The Ambassadors were a 1960s soul vocal group hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Formed in the mid-1960s, they quickly caught the attention of a co-owner and Philly radio star. Despite limited success with three singles released between late 1967 and summer 1968, they eventually signed to a new label. The group is best remembered for their hit "I Really Love You," which was released in 1969, as well as their sole, highly sought-after album that has become a mythic "holy grail" among northern soul enthusiasts. Three members of The Ambassadors, along with another member, later formed a new group.
