The Amboy Dukes were an American rock band formed in 1964 in Chicago, Illinois, and later based in Detroit, Michigan. In the UK, their records were released under the name The American Amboy Dukes to avoid confusion with a British soul group of the same name that recorded six singles for Polydor in the late 1960s.
