The American Breed was an American rock and soul group formed in 1962 in Cicero, Illinois. They disbanded in 1970 and later evolved into another entity. Their greatest success came with the single "Bend Me, Shape Me," which reached number five on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1968.
