The Animals were an English Rhythm & Blues band formed in the early 1960s in Newcastle-on-Tyne, UK. The original line-up included members on vocals, keyboards, guitar, bass, and drums. After Alan Price left and the band went through further changes, Eric Burdon moved to America, where he initiated a new line-up known as Eric Burdon & The New Animals, which lasted from 1966 to 1969. The band has since had various reunions with different line-ups.
