**The Apollas Bio** The Apollas were an American female soul trio formed in the 1960s, originally starting as Leola & The Love Joys, which consisted of Leola Jiles and Ella Jamerson. They released their first single, "He Ain't No Angel/Wait 'Round The Corner," on the Tiger record label in 1963, followed by a second single, "It's Mighty Nice/Payin' For The Wrong I've Done," in 1964. In 1965, the group rebranded as The Apollas and added Billie Barnum as their fourth member. They were signed by Loma Records, a soul subsidiary of Warner Brothers. Their debut single, "You're Absolutely Right," showcased their rock 'n' soul sound and aimed to establish their presence in a label not well-known for soul music. Despite the effort, the single did not chart, and the group continued to produce high-quality material with several singles focused on soul and dance tunes. Among their notable releases was "Mr. Creator," which featured a driving beat and an unforgettable island-style intro. They also covered the Everly Brothers' ballad "Who Would Want Me Now," but like their previous efforts, it did not achieve chart success.
