The Armed Gang was an Italo synth-funk crossover act that emerged in the early 1980s in Vicenza, Italy. The group was formed by producer Maurizio Sangineto, known as Sangy, along with vocalists Joe Bunch, Kenny Claiborne, and James Otis White Jr., who were black soldiers stationed at a nearby US military base. The band had a brief existence of approximately 2 to 3 years, primarily due to challenges in maintaining collaboration between its US and Italian members.
