The Bad Plus is an American jazz quartet that was founded in 2000 in New York City. Initially a trio, the group has undergone changes in its lineup over the years. The current members include Reid Anderson on bass and David King on drums, both of whom have been with the band since its inception. Chris Speed has been playing tenor saxophone since 2021, and Ben Monder joined as the guitarist in the same year. The band previously featured Ethan Iverson on piano from 2000 to 2017 and Orrin Evans from 2018 to 2021.
