The Beatnuts are a hip hop group and production duo based in Queens, New York City. The current members are JuJu, born Jerry Tineo on December 4, 1968, who is Dominican American from Corona, and Psycho Les, born Lester Fernandez on April 10, 1970, who is Colombian American from Jackson Heights. They are the only Latino members of the Native Tongues collective and are often acknowledged by Q-Tip, despite being peripheral members. Originally a trio, the group saw Kool Fashion, now known as Al' Tariq, leave to pursue a solo career. The Mighty V.I.C. was also part of The Beatnuts' production team for a period.
