The Black Dog was originally a trio consisting of Ed, Andy, and Ken, known at the time as . After Ed and Andy departed to pursue their own project, Ken continued to work under the Black Dog name, collaborating with various line-ups. Eventually, he chose to work with and from after a lengthy hiatus from the music scene. Ken Downie passed away on December 20th, 2025.
