The Blue Diamonds were a pop rock and doo-wop duo formed by brothers Riem de Wolff and Ruud de Wolff. They began their career in the 1950s after immigrating to the Netherlands from Batavia (now Jakarta), Indonesia, in 1949. Riem was born on April 15, 1943, and Ruud on May 12, 1941. The duo enjoyed success until their last hit in 1971, but they continued to perform together until Ruud's passing on December 18, 2000. Following Ruud's death, Riem pursued a solo career, performing with a supporting band and later with his son Steffen as a duo known as The New Diamonds.
