The Blue Nile is a Scottish band formed in Glasgow by three university graduates: singer/songwriter/guitarist Paul Buchanan, bassist Robert Bell, and keyboardist Paul Joseph Moore. Known for their mystique due to infrequent recordings, they have produced a series of critically acclaimed albums. The band has consistently collaborated with engineer Callum Malcolm and drummer Nigel Thomas, who are regarded as secondary members. They recorded a single titled "I Love This Life," which was released by Robert Stigwood's RSO Records before its closure. The Blue Nile was subsequently signed by Linn Products, which released their debut album, A Walk Across the Rooftops, in 1984.
