The Brand New Heavies is one of the most successful acid jazz and UK funk groups of all time. Over the years, the group has featured several lead vocalists, including Linda Muriel, Jay Ella Ruth, N'Dea Davenport, Siedah Garrett, Carleen Anderson, Nicole Russo, Honey Larochelle, Dawn Joseph, and Sulene Fleming, with all but the last two having appeared on the group's records. The group experienced its peak success in the first half of the 1990s with N'Dea Davenport. Davenport later returned for the "Get Used To It" and "Live In London" albums, after which Dawn Joseph gradually took over lead vocal duties. Both Joseph and founding member Jan Kincaid, who is also a co-lead vocalist and drummer, left the group in late 2015. The Brand New Heavies are known for their biggest hits, which include "Never Stop," "Dream Come True," "Dream On Dreamer," "Midnight At The Oasis," "Sometimes," "You Are The Universe," "You've Got A Friend," "Saturday Nite," and "I Don't Know Why (I Love You)."
