The Breakers were a 1960s band hailing from Kansas, known for their lively performances beyond just garage band status. They played extensively across Kansas and Oklahoma, sharing the stage with a diverse array of acts, including Paul Revere and the Raiders and Tony Bennett at the Cotillion Ball Room in Wichita. Their notable appearances also included the Red Dog Inn in Lawrence, KS, where they performed alongside renowned groups such as Rick Nelson, The Supremes, The Kingsmen, and The Fabulous Flippers. The band featured Bob Garvey as the lead guitarist, with additional members including the late Johnny Dondlinger on drums and the late Chuck Comley on vocals. Greg Salmon played keys, while Rick Prouse and Rick Peterson contributed on bass at different times. The brass section included John Baker and Gus Keats, and John Fleming provided vocals and rhythm guitar.
