The Brecker Brothers were a musical duo consisting of Michael Brecker, who played saxophone and EWI, and Randy Brecker, who played trumpet and flugelhorn. They gained recognition for their commercially successful jazz fusion albums during the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, with a notable hit single, "East River," released in 1979. In addition to their own recordings, the brothers frequently collaborated as session musicians on other artists' albums and had successful individual careers as well. Their collaborations ended with Michael Brecker's passing from leukemia on January 13, 2007.
