The Brian Jonestown Massacre is an American musical outfit formed in San Francisco in 1990 and led by frontman Anton Newcombe. Initially, their music was characterized by a shoegaze style, but after the release of their debut album, Methodrone, the group's sound evolved into a broader psychedelic rock style. They incorporated various influences, including garage rock, folk rock, and later, electronica. The band continues to experiment with different musical styles.
