The Buckinghams were an American pop rock band formed in 1965 in Chicago, Illinois. Initially starting as a garage R&B combo, they later incorporated a strong horn sound into their music. The band achieved their greatest success with the #1 hit "Kind Of A Drag," which gained national attention in the last weeks of 1966. In 1967, they had five top 20 singles on the Billboard charts, but their popularity declined sharply the following year. The Buckinghams disbanded in 1970 but reformed in 1980. The original lineup included lead guitar and vocals, bass, keyboards, drums (Jon-Jon), Curtis Bachman (vocals), and additional vocals. Bachman left after the first single, and a keyboardist briefly replaced Miccolis before being succeeded by another musician in early 1967.
