The Butthole Surfers are an American experimental rock band formed in 1981 in San Antonio, Texas, by Gibby Haynes and Paul Leary. The band's lineup has included members such as Jeffrey "King" Coffey since 1983 and Jeffrey Pinkus, who was part of the group from 1986 to 1994 and returned in 2008. Haynes and Leary have remained with the band since its inception. Throughout their history, the Butthole Surfers have seen several past members, including Teresa "Nervosa" Taylor, who was with the band during various periods from 1983 to 2009, and others like Nathan Calhoun, Owen McMahon, and Kytha Gernatt. The band is known for their experimental approach to rock music and has maintained a presence in the music scene for decades.
