The California Honeydrops are a vibrant musical group formed in November 2007, originally performing in the subway stations of Oakland, California. They blend genres such as roots, blues, R&B, and soul, creating a unique sound characterized by their distinctive instrumentation, soulful vocal harmonies, and a lively New Orleans style. The band consists of Lech Wierzynski on lead vocals, trumpet, and guitar; Ben Malament on drums, washboard, and percussion; Yanos "Johnny Bones" Lustig on tenor saxophone and clarinet; Lorenzo Loera on keys and melodica; and Beaumont Beaullieu on bass and percussion. At times, they have toured with additional musicians including Oliver Tuttle on trombone, Leon Cotter on tenor saxophone and clarinet, Miles Lyon on trombone and sousaphone, and Scott Messersmith on percussion.
