The Calvanes were a prominent R&B group from Los Angeles, CA, formed in 1954. The lineup included Herman Pruitt (lead), Lorenzo Robert "Bobby" Adams (1st tenor), Joe Hampton (2nd tenor), Stewart Crunk (baritone), and Jack Harris (bass). Initially struggling to find success, they began their journey as "The Wonders" and recorded several tracks before signing with Dootone Records in 1955. Despite early challenges, they reunited in 1989, continuing to perform and record new music, ultimately earning a lasting legacy in the R&B community.
