The Casanovas are an Australian hard rock band formed in 1999 by brothers Tommy (vocals/guitar) and Patrick Boyce (drums), along with bassist Jimmy Lewis. Drawing inspiration from a variety of retro influences such as Kiss, the Dictators, the Rolling Stones, Turbonegro, and AC/DC, the trio quickly began opening shows for established acts including Powder Monkeys, the Monarchs, and the White Stripes in their hometown of Melbourne. In the early years, the band released their first single, "10 Outta 10," and added second guitarist James Saunders. They also performed at the renowned Big Day Out Festival. After Saunders left in 2002, the band worked with producer Shane O'Mara to record their debut EP, Keep It Hot, and toured Australia and the U.K., including a performance at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, with new vocalist/bassist Damo Campbell (ex-Mustang). Upon returning to Australia, the Casanovas gained international recognition and began working on their self-titled debut album, delivering a powerful mix of '70s-inspired hard rock, despite the departure of Patrick Boyce, who was replaced by Jaws Stanley. The band continued to tour extensively worldwide, and in 2005, they recorded their yet-to-be-released sophomore album in Los Angeles with producer Sylvia Massy Shivy. Past members include Jimmy Lewis and Patrick Boyce.
