The Chandlers were a soul vocal group from Columbus, Ohio, active in the 1960s. Comprising four members, including Kevin Brown and Eric Younger, the group showcased their talent in the doo-wop style. They originated as students at Eastmoor High School. In 1967, Jeff Smith was brought on by Musicol to establish a label called Col-Soul. The Chandlers collaborated with Smith to record the ballad "I Need Your Love" and the upbeat track "Your Love Makes Me Lonely," both of which echoed the sound of classic R&B groups like the Drifters. The 45 record became a local hit, selling a few thousand copies, but it was the only release from Col-Soul. In 1969, Smith, in partnership with two others under Tribro Productions, returned the Chandlers to Musicol to record two more songs, including the uptempo track "Your Love Keeps Drawing Me Closer," released on the one-off label Bleu Rose. The Chandlers continued for a while longer before disbanding.
