The Charts were a Doo-Wop group from Harlem, New York, formed in 1956. They are best known for their recording "Deserie." The original lineup included (lead), (first tenor), Glenmore Jackson (second tenor), (baritone), and Ross Buford (bass). Initially named "The Thrilltones," they changed their name at the suggestion of their manager. "Deserie," released in 1957 on 's label, became a popular song in New York and is regarded as a Doo-Wop classic, despite not charting nationally. The success of the song led them to perform at prestigious venues such as the Apollo Theater in Harlem and the Regal Theater in Chicago. However, the group broke up in 1967. While The Charts were unable to achieve broader commercial success, their contribution to the Doo-Wop genre, particularly with "Deserie," remains a significant part of music history.
