The Chemical Brothers, comprised of Tom and Ed, first met in history class at Manchester University in 1989. They began their journey in 1992 as DJs under the name "The 237 Turbo Nutters," inspired by their house number on Dickenson Road in Manchester and their raving experiences in Blackburn. Later that same year, they adopted the name "The Dust Brothers," taken from the L.A. producers of the Beastie Boys' 1989 album "Paul's Boutique," believing they would never achieve fame. In 1995, they changed their name to "The Chemical Brothers" after facing a threat of legal action from the original Dust Brothers.
