The Congoes is a Jamaican vocal reggae band that was formed in the second half of the 1970s. The group began recording at Black Ark Studios, collaborating with a notable producer who added a member to the lineup to handle the deeper chords. The Congoes split in the early 1980s but reformed in the mid-1990s.
