The Congos is a Jamaican vocal reggae band formed in the second half of the 1970s. The group initially consisted of members who had previously been involved in other projects. They began recording at Black Ark Studios under the guidance of a notable producer, who added another member to the lineup to handle the deeper chords. The Congos split in the early 1980s but reformed in the mid-1990s.
