The Cooperettes, originally known as The Little Cooperettes, were a musical group formed by the Cooper sisters—Janette, Debbie, Tina, and Angie—who were raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They began their singing career in church during the early 1960s and later transitioned to R&B, shortening their name to The Cooperettes. Managed by their mother, Ethyl Cooper, the group secured a recording contract with Brunswick Records. Their debut single, "Goodbye School," became a significant hit in Philadelphia in 1966.
