The Cramps was an American punk band formed in 1976 in Sacramento, California, and disbanded in 2009. The band had a rotating lineup throughout its existence, with the husband and wife duo of lead singer Lux Interior (Erick Purkhiser) and lead guitarist Poison Ivy (Kristy Wallace) as the only permanent members. The Cramps' final lineup included Lux Interior on vocals, Kristy Wallace on lead guitar, and a drummer who played from February 1993 to July 2003 and again from August 2006 to February 2009. Over the years, the band saw various former members, including guitarists Greg Beckerleg, Julien Grindsnatch, and Brian Tristan, as well as several drummers and bassists. The Cramps disbanded following the death of Lux Interior in 2009.
