The Cranberries are an Irish alternative rock band formed in Limerick in 1989. Initially known by a different name, they later adopted their current name, influenced by their vocalist. The band consisted of lead singer Dolores O'Riordan, guitarist Noel Hogan, bassist Mike Hogan, and drummer Fergal Lawler until O'Riordan's passing on January 15, 2018. While they are widely associated with alternative rock, their sound also incorporates elements of indie, indie pop, rock, post-punk, Irish folk, and pop rock.
