The Deele is a soul synth-funk group formed in 1981 in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, emerging from the remnants of a funk soul group. They debuted with the album "Street Beat" in 1983, which gained traction with the third single, the reflective slow ballad "Just My Luck." The following year, their final single "Body Talk" achieved significant success, reaching number 3 on the Hot R&B chart and number 77 on the pop charts. "Body Talk" was also featured in the pilot episode of "Brothers Keeper." The Deele recorded three albums during the 1980s with a classic lineup of six members, producing major singles like "Shoot 'Em Up Movies" and "Two Occasions" from their third album, "Eyes Of A Stranger" (1988). After the crossover success of "Two Occasions," members left the group to become successful producers, while Reid and Edmonds established their own label in 1989, which launched several 90s powerhouse artists. Using the moniker, Edmonds also enjoyed a successful solo career. The remaining members released their final album, "An Invitation To Love," in 1993. In 2007, The Deele resumed touring and promoted their new single "The Only One" under Eieg/D-Town Records from Dallas, Texas. They reunited with original members in 2016 for the Honors event where Reid was recognized.
