The Dell Vikings, also known as The Del Vikings, were an American doo-wop musical group formed in 1955 by members of the U.S. Air Force stationed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They are best known for their hit singles from the 1950s, particularly "Come Go With Me," which reached No. 4 on the R&B charts and No. 5 on the pop charts, and "Whispering Bells." The group was notable for being one of the first racially integrated doo-wop groups, blending their vocal harmonies to create a distinctive sound that influenced the genre. Despite their early success, the group faced challenges when some members were underage at the time of signing contracts, resulting in a split into two factions both claiming the Del Vikings name. Nevertheless, both groups continued to perform and record. The Dell Vikings' ability to transcend racial barriers during a segregated era made them trailblazers in the music industry, paving the way for future integrated music groups.
