The Dells were an American soul, doo-wop, funk, and disco male vocal group formed in 1952 in Harvey, Illinois. Their career spanned more than four decades, and they were known for their falsetto and baritone singers. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 as performers. Initially, they were called something else, and their first hit was "Oh What A Night," which they released in 1956. In the late 1950s, they experienced some lineup changes with other doo-wop vocal groups. After releasing two albums, they signed with a new label in the mid-1960s, where they produced a dozen albums until 1975. Following that period, they released eight more albums with various labels until 2002.
