The Diamonds are a Canadian vocal quartet that gained popularity in the 1950s and early 1960s. Formed in 1953, the group has experienced several line-up changes and remains active today. The original members included Phil Levitt (baritone vocals), Ted Kowalski (tenor vocals), Bill Reed (bass vocals), and Dave Somerville (lead vocals). Phil Levitt was born on July 9, 1935, and passed away on November 21, 2025. Ted Kowalski was born on May 16, 1931, and died on August 8, 2010. Bill Reed was born on January 11, 1936, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and died on October 22, 2004. Dave Somerville was born on October 2, 1933, and died on July 14, 2015. In 1958, Phil Levitt retired and was succeeded by Michael Douglas. The following year, Californians Evan Fisher and John Felton replaced Bill Reed and Ted Kowalski.
