The D.O.C. is an American hip hop artist born on June 10, 1968, in Dallas, Texas. He began his career in the late 1980s as a member of a group and gained attention from a California-based producer, leading to the release of his first solo album. In November 1989, he suffered near-fatal injuries in an automobile accident that severed his vocal cords, resulting in the loss of his voice. Following this, he collaborated with other artists as a songwriter and in various capacities. By 1995, after undergoing speech therapy, he regained some of his voice and restarted his solo career, culminating in the release of his second album.
