**The Dominions Bio** The Dominions were a garage rock band from Eugene, Oregon, active from 1964 to 1967. The group was formed when Ken Paxton, a student at the University of Oregon, gathered fellow musicians to create a hard rock band known for its driving rhythm and energetic performances. The lineup included Gene Garrett on guitar and lead vocals, Ron Gordon on bass, Frank Nachtman on lead guitar, Ken Paxton on organ and vocals, John Peters on saxophone, Larry Rodman on drums, and Ron Techel on guitar and vocals. The band gained significant popularity in the Eugene area, performing at various venues including house dances, proms, and the University of Oregon Student Union. They released a single titled "I Need Her," which became a local hit, selling out all 500 copies produced at Graves Recording Studio. Their performances were known for their lively atmosphere, with memorable moments such as a dancer's unexpected antics that led to a brief closure of their shows by the school. Throughout their time together, The Dominions were characterized by their commitment to entertaining the audience, often incorporating playful elements into their performances, such as instrument switching and squirt gun fights. After disbanding, some members continued their musical journeys, with the band evolving into a new group called The Small Crowd in the late 60s.
