The Drag Set, originally named The Apaches, was a British mod psych rock band formed around 1965 in Putney, South London, by four musicians: Tim du Feu, Mike Brancaccio, Philip Fox, and Ray Nye. After Nye's departure in 1965, Terry Martin, also known as Terry Schindler, joined the band. The Drag Set performed at prominent mid-60s Swingin London clubs, including the Bag O'Nails and Speakeasy, after a series of gigs at the Pontiac Club in Putney. They recorded a couple of songs with producer Joe Meek shortly before his death, which were released in March 1967 on the GO label but did not achieve significant attention. By the end of that year, the band changed their name to The Open Mind. The lineup included Tim du Feu on bass and piano, Mike "Bran" Brancaccio on lead guitar, Philip Fox on drums, and Terry Martin on guitar and vocals.
