The Drapers were formed by Dock Green after his departure from the Drifters. The group included Johnny Moore, "Carnation Charlie" Hughes, and Tommy Evans, who was still with the Drifters at the time. With Evans, Moore, and Hughes all having been part of the Drifters in the mid-50s, the Drapers represented a continuation of the Drifters' legacy more than the current incarnation of the Drifters. The members of The Drapers included Dock Green as the Baritone, Johnny Moore as the Tenor, "Carnation Charlie" Hughes as the First Tenor/Baritone, and Tommy Evans as the Bass.
