The Dreamlovers were an American doo wop group hailing from Philadelphia, PA, formed in 1956. Initially, they went by several names, including The Romancers and The Midnighters, under which they backed Chubby Checker on his 1958 recording of "The Twist." The group recorded briefly for V-Tone Records before signing with Heritage Records, where they released their 1961 single "When We Get Married," which peaked at #10 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The following year, their song "If I Should Lose You," released on End Records, reached #61. The Dreamlovers remained active into the 1960s, with their hit "When We Get Married" later covered by The Intruders in 1970, and "You Gave Me Somebody to Love" becoming a UK hit for Manfred Mann in 1966.
