The Dutchy Brothers, hailing from San Fernando, Trinidad, were a musical group formed by the sons of Leonard “Dutchy” De Vlugt, an immigrant saxophone player from Suriname. As children, they showcased their prodigious musical talents on various children's radio shows. As they matured, the Dutchy Brothers became one of the leading dance bands in the Caribbean during the 1950s and 1960s. The band featured a talented lineup: Pete De Vlugt on tenor saxophone, Eugene De Vlugt on bass, Leo De Vlugt on bongos, Jeffrey Camps on congas, Rudolph De Vlugt on drums, Orville De Vlugt on guitar, Ottmar De Vlugt on piano, Norbert Scanterbury on trumpet, and Samuel Lambkin on wood block.
