The Edwards Generation, originally known as the Edwins family, formed in the early 1970s after relocating to the San Francisco Bay area in 1972. Initially living in a motel for several months, they eventually became a musical group. By the mid-1970s, they released at least one single, "School Is In" b/w "Someone Like You" on Ghetto Records, as well as a full-length LP titled "The Street Thang" on Tight Records. The band also made several television appearances, including on the Mike Douglas Show.
