The Emotions are an American female vocal soul sister trio formed in 1968 in Chicago, Illinois. They were initially known by a different name before releasing their first two albums, which were produced by notable figures in the music industry. In the mid-1970s, they switched labels and gained significant recognition through their association with a prominent producer, leading to their chart-topping hit "Best Of My Love." They also achieved great success with "Boogie Wonderland," a collaboration with another artist. Over the course of their career, The Emotions released ten albums between 1971 and 1985.
