The Enchanted Forest was formed in 1966 in New York and consisted of Judy Hunter (keyboards), Carol Hunter (guitar/bass/vocals), Laurie Stanton (tambourine/vocals), Sanna Groseth (bass/vocals), and Sally Halbert (drums). They signed with Amy Records and released their single “You're Never Gonna Get My Lovin'” b/w a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Suzanne” in January 1968. Their performances, including one at Le Hibou in Ottawa, showcased a repertoire that included songs by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Several of their tracks were written by the songwriting duo Mort Schuman and Kenny Lynch, who later replaced the original members for a different version of the band after their time in Canada. Following the band's disbandment, Judy Hunter joined Neil Diamond’s band.
