The Es Shades were a popular garage band formed in the Spencer/Lodi, Ohio area between 1965 and 1969. Comprised of local teens from Black River High School, the group was founded by bassist and lead singer Mark Lance, along with drummer Richard Carmichael, who played on their second single. The band members would later become involved in music during the mid-70s.
