The Esquires were an American Soul/R&B group hailing from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Originally formed in 1957 as 'Betty Moorer and the Esquires,' they later shortened their name after Betty Mooror departed from the group. In 1966, they relocated to Chicago and signed with Bunky Records, where their debut single "Get On Up" achieved notable success, reaching #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 on the R&B singles chart. The group continued to record and perform into the mid-1970s, making sporadic reappearances until at least 1980.
