The Ethiopians are a ska, rocksteady, and reggae vocal group founded by members whose names are not specified. They began recording in 1966 for an unspecified label, with Dillon having previously released mento songs under a different name. In late 1966, Morris left the group, and they started recording at Dynamic Studios for another label, achieving their first success with the ska classic "Train to Skaville." In 1968, they released "Everything Crash," which became their first major hit and critiqued the political climate in Jamaica, addressing issues like water rationing and power cuts that contributed to unrest, including an incident where police shot 31 people. Tragically, in September 1975, Taylor was killed by a van while crossing the road. Dillon took a break but later continued performing as The Ethiopian.
