**Bio: The Eyes Of Dawn** The Eyes Of Dawn originated when guitarist Jack Arseneault left The Fugitive 4 to join The Five D and suggested a name change for the group. Their first major break came after winning a Big 9 battle of the bands in Hull, Quebec, across the Rideau River from Ottawa. They spent six months as the house band at La Petite Souris coffee house, performing four nights a week and attracting large crowds of teens. This success led to them being managed by John Pozer, who arranged a recording session in Montreal with producers Don Norman and Ron Greene. After the release of their first single, lead singer Wayne McQuaid departed to join The Wax Museum and briefly Those Naughty Boys. By mid-1967, The Eyes Of Dawn had established themselves on the regional music circuit, despite undergoing several personnel changes. A notable moment in their history was opening for Eric Burdon & The Animals at the Ottawa Coliseum, where a riot broke out after their performance, marking the end of rock concerts at that venue. The group disbanded a few months after releasing their second single, with most members joining other local bands, such as The Townsmen and The Heart. Group leader Terry King continued to perform in the Ottawa music scene, being a member of Cooper, King & Emmerson since the early seventies.
