The Fabulaires were an R&B vocal group hailing from West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, formed in 1957. The group consisted of members Paul Green (Lead), William J. Lewis, Vernon Earl Monroe, Billy Watson, and Charles David Young (Bass). They gained recognition after winning first place in a local singing contest. With the assistance of Butch Curry from Lee Andrews & the Hearts, who lived across the street from Paul Green, they secured a record deal with the Main Line label. However, the group had a brief existence, lasting about six months and performing 2-3 shows. David Young later sang with another group, and Billy Watson served as an early road manager for another act.
