The Faction is an American hardcore punk band that was formed in 1982 in San Jose, California. As pioneers of the skate punk era in the early 1980s, they were among the first bands to blend punk rock music with skateboarding culture. Their debut performance was on December 3, 1982, at San Jose City College, and their final show occurred on February 22, 2020, also in San Jose. Although they have ceased live performances, the band has not officially disbanded.
