The Facts Of Life were an American soul trio formed in New York and Chicago. The group was established after one of the members became friends with Tyrone Davis's sister, Jean, while on the road. The trio included Carter and Williams and initially recorded under a different name. Their debut 7" single, "Uphill Peace Of Mind," was produced by Millie Jackson and released in 1975 on the Kayvette label. Although Jackson had intended to produce individual records for Carter, Davis, and Williams, time constraints led her to assemble them into the trio instead.
