The Falcons were an American rhythm and blues vocal group formed in 1955 in Detroit, Michigan. The original lineup released only their first single, featuring members Robert Manardo and Tom Shelter. By the time of their subsequent single, the lineup included additional members, but specific names are not provided. This lineup remained intact until a certain point, after which a member was replaced. Before the release of a single in 1963, the group disbanded when one member was drafted, and two others were not always available. The manager of the group refused to let it dissolve and took another group known as The Falcons, who had recorded on various labels, and rebranded them as The Falcons. Towards the end of the 1960s into the 1970s, original members began to return under the Falcons name. The second incarnation of The Falcons continued to perform.
