The Fantastics is a British-based vocal group that originated from New York, NY, United States. The group was formed in 1968 and initially performed as "The Fantastic Temptations," covering hits from the original Temptations. Members included Jerome "Romeo" Ramos (tenor vocals, 1968-76), Donald Haywoode (second tenor vocals, 1968-?), Richard Pitts (tenor vocals, 1968-72), A.D. Beal (tenor vocals, 1972-76), and Jimmy Hamilton (tenor vocals, 1976), among others. After relocating to the UK, they took advantage of the British Soul explosion and toured northern clubs. Eventually, they had to drop the "Temptations" reference from their name.
